the Future: Labor Party Convention and Conference Resolutions and Constitutional Amendments Recognition of the Contributions of Laura McClure When the Labor Party Founding Convention came to a close in 1996, the Labor Party Press was established as the official newspaper of the Labor Party. Rising to the challenge of editing and writing the Labor Party Press was veteran labor journalist Laura McClure. For six years Laura McClure has dedicated her life to producing the journal that has been the voice of the Labor Party movement. With a keen eye and steady hand, Laura has penned and edited hundreds of articles and stories that have told the Labor Party story. At all times her yeoman's efforts reflected the Labor Party dream of a day when people would matter more than profits. Through her stewardship of the Labor Party Press, Laura McClure has made a valuable contribution to the development of our movement, as well as the development of contemporary labor journalism. Therefore, be it resolved that this Second Constitutional Convention of the Labor Party recognizes, thanks, and salutes Laura McClure for her dedicated work to produce the Labor Party Press. We wish her well and look forward to her continuing contributions to building a Labor Party in these United States. |
